Ledger the Dog needs a home
Handsome Ledger is a loving, affectionate dog who Dogtown volunteers absolutely love. He does have some anxiety and fear issues, however, particularly when he is overstimulated. He sometimes gets worked up and mouthy with people and other dogs.Born in 2014, Ledger came to Best Friends from a local animal control department. He is very noise sensitive and unaccustomed to a lot of common household noises and objects. He can become very fearful, and then he will not come inside from his yard, even for people he knows. Because most of his anxiety and fear issues happen in his room, Ledger's caregivers typically have him meet new people outside. Once he's away from the building and out on the trail or a car ride, he tends to calm down.Hustle and bustle is very hard on this sensitive guy, so he would do best in a calm, quiet and stable home, without a lot of excitement. Ledger is currently on prescription medication to help him calm down. He enjoys walks in cooler weather, and he's also happy to snuggle up with you and be loved. He will need someone who is patient and who will help him continue to build his confidence in a home environment and with meeting new people.
